The Athletic [5 August] report Chelsea are open to letting Jackson move on in this window, even though they are not looking to sell him, and these are the five club’s whom he could join.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery managed Jackson at Villareal, so the Spaniard knows the 24-year-old well and may need to replace Ollie Watkins should he leave the club.

Jackson has similar traits to Watkins, with both blessed with pace to threaten on counter-attacks and stretch opposition defences.

The Toon want Benjamin Sesko as their first choice, and have been linked with Watkins from Villa, but if neither can be achieved then a move for Jackson may be forthcoming, even if they have been warned against signing the Senegal international.

If Eddie Howe does not sign a striker then he is left with only William Osula as a natural striker and may have to move Anthony Gordon up-front like he did in the pre-season match against Spurs.

With Champions League football returning to St James’ Park next season, it adds further pressure on Howe to sign a striker capable of performing at the top level.

Mbeumo has made the move from a Premier League rival to Man United.

Rasmus Hojlund may leave the club and Joshua Zirkzee failed to impress in his debut campaign at Old Trafford and Jackson could be a solution to Man United’s goal scoring problems.

The Red Devils struck just 44 times in 38 Premier League games last season.

The Italian club could require a new striker should Dusan Vlahovic leave, and The Telegraph [29 July] reported Juventus hold an interest in Jackson.

Juventus could snap up Jackson at a cheaper price than a Premier League club and would have the funds to purchase Jackson if they can sell Vlahovic.

Finishing fourth in Serie A last season means Juventus can offer Jackson Champions League football, and a move abroad may be best for his career.

Juventus though may face competition from fellow Serie A club AC Milan for Jackson.
