West Ham are set to add a new goalkeeper to their ranks and manager Graham Potter’s transfer business has not concluded.

Sources have told Football Insider that the Hammers are confident of striking a deal to sign Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, who was also the interest of other Premier League club’s including Manchester United and Aston Villa.

If completed, the 29-year-old will become West Ham’s fifth summer arrival to strengthen Potter’s goalkeeping department following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski at the end of last season.

West Ham could now be looking at the below five players as they look to improve on last season’s 14th placed finish.

Following his influential displays in helping the England Under-21s lift the Euros title for a second consecutive tournament, Harvey Elliott has been linked to plenty of Premier League club’s.

West Ham require extra creativity in their squad following the departure of Mohammed Kudus, although they have been boosted by Lucas Paqueta being clear of spot-fixing charges.

This would be a hard deal to complete, but it would be a transfer worth completing as Elliott has showed at Liverpool he has the potential to turn into a future star.

Midfielder Josh Brownhill has decided to leave Burnley and has not signed a new contract at Turf Moor which has meant increased interest in the 29-year-old.

Brownhill’s record in the Championship last season was extraordinary and his leadership skills would also be a bonus to Potter.

Celtic and Everton are also exploring a move for Brownhill, so West Ham may have to be quick with a deal as the Hoops could off him Champions League football if they progress to the league stage.

Everton are also interested in West Ham target Chris Rigg, another player who enjoyed a successful campaign in the Championship last season to help Sunderland to promotion.

Rigg would add depth to West Ham’s attacking midfield options and at only 18 years old, the Sunderland academy graduate has the potential to become a key player under Potter.

The former Bright boss wants to add young players to his squad, so the addition of Rigg looks a good move.

Football Insider were exclusively told in April that the centre-back position was a high priority for Potter this summer, so the club could reignite their interest in Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet.

The 25-year-old only joined Udinese last summer, but the Italian club are open to offers on the defender who was previously at RB Salzburg in Austria.

West Ham conceded 62 goals in the Premier League last season and have already added to their defence with the signings of Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf.

Romano Schmid is another attacking option as Potter does not want to solely rely on Jarrod Bowen and Callum Wilson as his main source of goals next season.

25-year-old Schmid has appeared nearly 150 times for Bremen in six years at the club and has the ability to score and create in the Bundesliga.
