Trent Alexander-Arnold was officially presented as Real Madrid’s latest galáctico on Thursday morning at the club’s training facility, Ciudad Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old became the second summer signing to be unveiled by Los Blancos, following defender Dean Huijsen’s presentation earlier this week.
The ceremony took place at 12:30 CET, where Alexander-Arnold was welcomed by club president Florentino Pérez before signing his six-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2030.
Unlike the traditional grand unveilings at the Santiago Bernabéu that have welcomed superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Alexander-Arnold’s presentation followed a more low-key approach at the training ground.
During the presentation the Real Madrid president namechecked Liverpool, saying that his side have a good relationship with the Anfield club and calling Liverpool “dear friends”:
“Dear Trent Alexander-Arnold, good afternoon and welcome to Real Madrid City.
A player who has won everything and who is one of the best defenders in the world is coming to Madrid,” Perez declared.
“I want to thank you because we know what it means to you to play for Real Madrid.
You come from Liverpool, a club that is dear to us?
You have won nine titles at Anfield”
“We have a great relationship with Liverpool,” he asserted.
