Florian Wirtz has several shirt number options he could take once he completes a possible move to Liverpool.
The Reds remain locked in talks with Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen over a potential club-record move for the Germany international.
Recent reports had claimed that Wirtz had chosen his preferred squad number ahead of a potential move.
The coveted number 10 shirt, currently worn by Argentinian ace Alexis Mac Allister, is what Wirtz has worn in recent seasons for Bayer Leverkusen and it had been suggested in some quarters he would want it at Liverpool as well.
However, Wirtz took to social media to debunk these suggestions he would want the No.10 shirt at Anfield.

On Instagram, he penned a blunt message.
Don't believe everything what's written," he wrote alongside a clown face emoji.
With the number 10 jersey potentially out of reach, Wirtz could now be weighing up alternative numbers.
The number 27, which he sported during his early days in the Bayer Leverkusen senior squad, is unclaimed — following Darwin Nunez’s switch for the start of the 2023/24 season — reports the Mirror.

And if Luis Diaz exits amid purported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Wirtz might fancy the number seven — a shirt he adorned on his debut for Germany.
However, the ECHO understands the current Premier League champions have no plans to sell Diaz this summer amid interest from the Saudi Pro League and Barcelona.
Although the number 17 has been associated with him in recent international appearances, Curtis Jones already claims this number at Liverpool.
And Wirtz's social media comments would suggest he woudln't be looking to take this number from one of his new teammates.
