Florian Wirtz has hit out at recent reports suggesting that he wants the No.10 shirt at Liverpool - and in the process has given the game away on a potential move to Anfield.
The Reds are still working on a deal to sign the 22-year-old, having had two offers rejected by Bayer Leverkusen so far.
Liverpool is still thought to be some way off the Bundesliga side’s asking price, although a transfer still looks likely to take place, with Jeremie Frimpong having already made the same move.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg suggested he wanted the No.10 shirt - the same number he currently wears at Leverkusen.
However, that number is occupied by Alexis Mac Allister at Liverpool, with the Argentine having claimed it upon his arrival in 2023.
Of course, Wirtz’s message all but confirms that he is in the process of securing a move to Liverpool, with the German international understood to have already given his approval to a move to Anfield.
Manchester City has already pulled out of the race, while Bayern Munich - which had looked to be the favorite at one stage - now looks to have admitted defeat and moved on to other targets.
Although Liverpool is firmly in the process of thrashing out a deal for Wirtz, reports have also suggested Arne Slot met with another potential option last week.
It’s claimed that the Liverpool boss briefly left his holiday to hold a meeting with Lyon star Rayan Cherki before negotiations intensified with Wirtz
Cherki now looks more likely to be heading to City.
Liverpool.com says: Nothing like getting it straight from the horse's mouth - it seems that Wirtz is indeed all in on a move to Liverpool!
And since he doesn't seem that bothered about his shirt number, the Reds won't have to shift any of their current players around, meaning Wirtz will likely get one of the higher numbers available upon his arrival.
