Pre-season is a time for Arne Slot to work with his Liverpool squad and make any necessary changes where he sees fit.

He will have been helped by the club getting their business done early, with Jeremie Frimpong already signed on, while Florian Wirtz is expected to join Liverpool soon.

The timeframe that Liverpool have to ideally get their new signings done by has also been revealed, with their full pre-season schedule being announced.

The Premier League Champions have been deserving of a well-earned rest and after winning the league with four games to spare, they have got just that.

They now have just over a month before they are back in action, with the club announcing they will be playing Preston North End on 13th July.

The game will take place at Deepdale before the Reds jet off to Asia for their official pre-season tour.

They will begin the tour in Hong Kong where they play AC Milan on 26th July, before facing J1 League club Yokohama F.

Marinos in Japan on July 30th.

With all the dates confirmed, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes will now be working extra hard to get all their transfer business done in time to show their new stars off to the rest of the world.

Although not quite the heights of the Allianz Arena or the San Siro that he played in last season, Wirtz could make his debut at Deepdale in just over a month’s time.

Despite not being confirmed just yet, Wirtz is expected to be a Red very soon, with Liverpool demolishing the British transfer record to sign him.

Costing around £126m, the 22-year-old has the world at his feet and will be a vital player under Slot for many seasons to come.

Even if he signs in time, there is no guarantee he will feature in this game, although Liverpool fans can definitely expect to see him during their pre-season tour of Asia.
