Florian Wirtz has been announced as one of potentially five summer signings that could boost Liverpool to another Premier League title.

The Reds have wasted no time in the transfer market since they were crowned champions by already spending £146million on new arrivals.

Dutch full-back Jeremie Frimpong was first through the door with a £29.5m move from Bayer Leverkusen, signing a five-year deal.

Wirtz became the second arrival at Anfield on Friday as he also joined from Leverkusen in a British transfer record deal worth £116.5m.

Milos Kerkez is also set to sign from Bournemouth for £40m, with the Premier League champions improving across all areas of the pitch.

And their transfer business will seemingly continue as Marc Guehi and Hugo Ekitike have emerged as two other summer targets.

At right-back, Frimpong is on course to fill the vacancy left by Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old made 190 appearances for Leverkusen and was part of their Bundesliga title win in the 2023/24 campaign.

Starting as the right centre-back could very well be Guehi, who hasn't had any shortage of Premier League interest.

talkSPORT understands Liverpool are keen to sign the Crystal Palace captain as heads into the final year of his deal at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle United were heavily linked with Guehi last summer and a £70m offer from Tottenham was rejected in the winter window.

Such a fee could be required to complete the signing of the England international, although his upcoming contract expiry could lessen it.

Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk signed a two-year contract extension in April and will remain at the heart of their defence.

Like Alisson, the Dutchman has been pivotal to the Reds' success in recent years and was a consistent starter last season.

Kerkez is in line to become the new starting left-back at Liverpool once his move from Bournemouth is completed.

Andy Robertson has been their long-term first-choice in the position, but is understood to be open to a move to Atletico Madrid.

Hungarian star Kerkez played all 38 of Bournemouth's Premier League matches, scoring two goals and assisting six others.

Ryan Gravenberch may be chosen by head coach Arne Slot to start in front of the back line as the defensive midfielder.

He shone for the Reds throughout much of their 2024/25 campaign and would be deserving of more regular minutes in the role.

In a potential slight position change, Dominik Szoboszlai could be one of two central midfielders for Liverpool next season.

Szoboszlai is known more for his attacking midfield qualities, but Slot played him slightly deeper in their 3-2 loss at Brighton in May.

On Sky Sports, he said: "I've had this thing with Szoboszlai, I actually think he’s got the qualities for central midfield.

"When you describe his energy, it's more what he does off the ball rather than what he does on the ball.

"And Liverpool are getting linked with a guy from Bayer Leverkusen.

What might be interesting is, let's say for instance that deal got done, Szoboszlai's energy is vitally important to Liverpool.

I think he knows that getting into a Premier League-winning team is a hard job and takes work."

Alexis Mac Allister hit five goals and five assists in the Premier League last season, and started 30 of their 38 matches.

The World Cup winner has played 74 times alongside Szoboszlai for Liverpool in a partnership that could deliver another league title.

Reds icon Mohamed Salah committed his future to the club towards the end of the season by also signing a two-year extension.

He hit an incredible tally of 57 goal contributions in 52 appearances and will surely stay as the starting right winger at Anfield.

Wirtz could find himself on the opposite side of the attack for his new club as a right-footed German international.

Much of his Leverkusen career was spent in attacking midfield, but he also showed his versatility across all front three areas.

talkSPORT understands Darwin Nunez is likely to leave this summer, with Liverpool seeking in excess of £59m.

That means a new striker could be acquired before the window shuts, and Ekitike could be that chosen man.

Eintracht Frankfurt are understood to value the 23-year-old, who scored 22 goals this season, at €100m [£86m].

Manchester United have enquired about the striker and Chelsea are also interested, but Liverpool are also a speculated destination.
