Liverpool target Florian Wirtz has reportedly informed Bayern Munich transfer chiefs that he intends to move to Anfield this summer.
The attacker is being pursued by the Reds and Bundesliga champions following another imperious season with Bayer Leverkusen.
Wirtz, who moved to his current side from Koln in 2020, has been in stellar form in the Bundesliga and the Champions League this season.
The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals and 13 assists in 31 league appearances and six goals in nine appearances in Europe’s top-tier club competition before his team was knocked out by Bayern in the last-16.

According to RMC Sport, Wirtz has personally informed Bayern’s management of his decision to join Liverpool.
He had previously told Manchester City chiefs that he would sign for the Munich giants but is now said to be one step away from linking up with Arne Slot’s side.
The Reds will finalise an agreement with Leverkusen and will hand the club around £126million to take the Germany international to the Premier League.
Wirtz, who has been capped 29 times by Germany and represented his country at Euro 2024, has bagged 57 goals and 65 assists in 197 appearances for Leverkusen.
He helped his team win the Bundesliga and German Cup double last season but was unable to inspire them to success this time around as Bayern were crowned league champions ahead of the Cup final between Stuttgart and third tier Arminia.
The talented star has two more years remaining on his current deal and appeared relaxed about his future in February as he explained: “I'm extremely grateful to have been given a chance in the first team.
I was given the room to develop here in peace.”
Wirtz is said to be house-hunting on Merseyside after Manchester City withdrew from the race to secure his services due to the transfer fee, wages and bonuses involved in completing a deal.
And the latest transfer developments come after Bayern Munich icon Stefan Effenberg lashed out at the player in his t-online column last week as he wrote: “If Wirtz, who is supposed to have tended towards Bayern, now suddenly changes his mind again that would also be a very bad sign because that would make it clear that he himself doesn't really know what he actually wants.
“So the question remains open, where does he actually want to go?
