Florian Wirtz to Liverpool transfer latest

There are virtually new Wirtz stories every hour since Liverpool lodged their interest.

Many of them originate from Germany and are continuing to ascertain where the Reds are placed in this pursuit, which was previously dominated by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

BILD's Head of Sport, Christian Falk reported that Arne Slot's side is accelerating their interest in the 22-year-old.

The claim suggests that the Reds are considering making a major investment in the Germany talent, who is valued around £126million.

Although, it has been said that Bayern remain confident that he will join the club having agreed on two potential pathways, one being a move this summer or one delayed until next summer.

However, Liverpool's pressure threatens their deal, it has been suggested.

And Fenway Sports Group's CEO of Football, Michael Edwards, reportedly flew to Boston, home of FSG, to discuss the transfer with the Reds owners in a meeting, following talks with Wirtz's family.

But in their report, they add that Wirtz' representatives, who are also his family members, were "greatly impressed" by Liverpool with the Germany international said to be the new focal point at Anfield

Liverpool are emerging out of a season-long contract saga which saw Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah face intense scrutiny throughout the title-winning season.

But in a possible twist of fate, it has been said that both parties have agreed to return to the negotiation table at the end of the season with Richard Hughes holding fresh talks with the player's representatives as Liverpool are keen to wrap up the renewal.

While a departure isn't ruled out, only a handful can afford him, and the report suggests that although Konate is comfortable at Anfield, he knows he is entering a pivotal stage of his career, which may hinder his decision.
