Liverpool may have two Premier League matches - and the small matter of a certain trophy lift - remaining, but the Reds are wasting little time as they set about strengthening the squad that delivered their 20th English crown.
Talks over a deal with Jeremie Frimpong are continuing and the Reds have expressed an interest in signing Florian Wirtz, also from Bayer Leverkusen.
Wirtz is one of the most sought after players in European football, having established his reputation with Leverkusen, who last season broke Bayern Munich's dominance to win the Bundesliga title.
He'd come at a cost, though, with a fee of around £125million mooted.
So what do our writers think about interest in Wirtz?

The news that Liverpool have made known their interest in Bayer Leverkusen Florian Wirtz is a signal of intent from the Premier League champions.
The Germany international wasn't at his best at Anfield when the Reds swept aside the then Bundesliga champions 4-0 in the Champions League in November, but he would be a major sprinkling of stardust on this squad.

The 22-year-old is a languid, classy attacking midfielder with the ability to play in a number of positions but if Liverpool are able to convince Wirtz that his future is at Anfield, might there be a tweaking of his role to play something of a No.9 position under Arne Slot, almost in a Roberto Firmino-role?
With Darwin Nunez's future uncertain and Diogo Jota struggling to hit the heights of previous years, the need for an all-singing, all-dancing centre-forward has grown in recent months, but a pursuit of the £125m-rated Wirtz might alter the outlook where the striker position is concerned.
Since the start of last season, Wirtz has 23 assists, which is a Bundesliga high, while he has also registered 21 goals.
Given the quality needed to improve a squad that find themselves as champions with four games to spare and in possession of a 15-point lead, the pool the club are now swimming in when it comes to targets is a shallow one.
Liverpool don't really do 'statement signings' or 'marquee' arrivals but the intention to move for Wirtz shows a level of ambition that says Slot, sporting director Richard Hughes and the rest of the club are determined to stay in the position they are in right now.
Liverpool have traditionally not regularly become involved in the mega-money deals so beloved of some of their Premier League and European rivals.
And the patchy return from club record signing Darwin Nunez highlights both the fact there is no guarantee of success when spending big, and that scrutiny on such purchases is far more intense.
However, two years ago Liverpool were willing to splurge more than £100million on Moises Caicedo, and now are in the conversation to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
Wirtz, while still only 22, has long been on the radar of the Reds and almost every other leading club, even before his impressive progress under the tutelage of the departing Xabi Alonso.
Liverpool supporters won't be getting too excited, given the mood music is the player will stay in Germany, either by remaining with Leverkusen or making a switch to Bayern Munich.
And there's no getting away from the fact the asking price is way beyond anything the Reds have ever paid for a player, no matter how great the talent or potential.
Were Wirtz available for a lower fee, Liverpool should be trying hard to make the deal happen.
It won't be easy - but why shouldn't Liverpool give it a go?
Liverpool's interest in Florian Wirtz is enough to get the pulse racing for supporters who are looking forward to seeing the current Reds squad get their hands on the Premier League trophy next week.
The Bayer Leverkusen attacker is one of the most sought after players in world football and that Manchester City and Bayern Munich hold an interest says everything about his quality.
For Liverpool, we know how deliberate the club likes to behave in the transfer market.
When Liverpool have battled for players of such quality before - think Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker - they have gone on to more than justify their price-tags.
