Liverpool want to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

The final match of the campaign was played amid continued speculation around the proposed deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.



Liverpool's interest in the Germany international first emerged earlier this month and could be set to ramp up this week.

The ECHO reported on Friday that Liverpool had made initial contact with Leverkusen over a deal to sign Wirtz.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City have also been linked with signing the 22-year-old over recent months, but now it seems that the Reds are the favourites to get a deal over the line.

Here, the ECHO takes a look at what has been reported on the possibility of Wirtz joining Liverpool this summer;

It has been reported by Fabrizio Romano on X - formerly known as Twitter - that Liverpool have now made their first bid to Leverkusen to sign Wirtz.

The report claims that the bid is worth more than €100million (£84million) and will include add-ons as part of the overall package.

Liverpool and Leverkusen are said to be set to resume talks on Monday, with the aim of agreeing a deal to bring Wirtz to Anfield.

A report from talkSPORT has claimed that Wirtz and Liverpool have now reached an agreement on personal terms for the 29-cap Germany player to move to Anfield.

It has been claimed in that report, too, that Liverpool will continue negotiating with Leverkusen on Monday to get a deal over the line for Wirtz.

City are also mentioned in the report, with it been claimed that Pep Guardiola's squad will look to sign Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White as an alternative to Wirtz.
