talkSPORT understands that Newcastle United's Alexander Isak has informed the club that he is willing to explore a move away this summer.

At this stage, this isn't a formal transfer request, but he is willing to, but he isn't willing to sign a new contract either.

He does have a deal until 2028, and the Toon would £150 million for the forward.

The Swedish international hasn't travelled to Singapore with the rest of the squad for pre-season.

Liverpool are willing to pay a new British transfer record for the forward, while Al-Hilal are also keen.

Eddie Howe had left Isak out of the Toon's 4-0 defeat to Celtic at the weekend, but he was confident Isak would remain at St James' Park.

The Reds could end up paying £79 million for the forward, who has signed a six-year deal.

Ekitike had interest from Newcastle United and Manchester United, but he chose Liverpool, and he has now met his new teammates for the first time.

The striker has been spotted in Hong Kong with the rest of Arne Slot's team.

Manchester United have made fresh contact with Aston Villa for Ollie Watkins, talkSPORT understands.

The Red Devils have identified Watkins as a target in their search for a new number nine, but any move is likely to depend on selling players first.

Villa, who have shown interest in United's Alejandro Garnacho, value Watkins at £60 million.

Arsenal tried to sign the forward in January but were rebuffed in their efforts to do so.

Watkins is Villa's top Premier League goalscorer and the club's only senior striker at the moment.

The South Korean forward arrives from K League 2 side Suwon Bluewings for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old made 28 appearances for his team, scoring once and providing three assists, and he can't wait to get started.

Speaking to the club's website, he said: "It's a huge honour to join Newcastle United.

"It's a big step for me and I feel incredibly thankful for the faith the club have shown in me.

Newcastle United's Alexander Isak hasn't travelled on their pre-season tour to Singapore.

The Magpies are heading to Asia as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

However, there will be no Isak in the squad.

The Toon insist this is due to a thigh problem that saw the striker train on his own earlier this week and miss the Celtic game.

However, Eddie Howe indicated after the Toon's 4-0 defeat to Celtic that he had sent Isak home due to the speculation over his future.

Liverpool are keen on recruiting the star striker and were willing to slap down a British transfer record of £120 million.

However, no bid ever came in for Isak, and Liverpool have signed Hugo Ekitike for £69 million.

Chelsea have opened talks with RB Leipzig to sign Xavi Simons, talkSPORT understands.

Simons is close to agreeing personal terms, but is also talking to other clubs, with Bayern and Arsenal keen as well.

The 22-year-old is prioritising a move to the Premier League as it stands and could be available for under €70million.

That's despite Leipzig agreeing an €80million fee with PSG in January.

Chelsea want to add another attacker with the expectation that Christopher Nkunku departs.

The German champions are not ruling out a bid for him despite knowing he is keen on a Premier League switch.

Simons has made 76 appearances for Leipzig, scoring 21 times and can be used as an attacking midfielder or on either flank, which is viewed as appealing by Chelsea.

Chelsea are advancing in their move to sign Ajax starlet Jorrel Hato, with club-to-club talks underway.

talkSPORT reported last week that negotiations had begun between the Blues and Hato as they eye a left-sided defender.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

The 19-year-old is high on Chelsea's list of targets this summer and has also been on the radar of Liverpool.

The Reds could well now return to try and prise him away again.

The Premier League champions' stance has been that Diaz is not for sale this summer.

But that could change depending on how high the German champions bid and if they can source a suitable replacement.
