Liverpool have won the transfer tug-o-war to snap up Salford City prodigy Will Wright, talkSPORT.
The Reds and Arsenal had locked horns in the battle for Wright's signature, with the Gunners even outbidding the Premier League champions.
But Liverpool ousted their rivals after they made an improved offer and reached a club-to-club agreement.
Wright's move to Anfield comes as a blow to Salford co-owners David Beckham and Gary Neville in what is their first summer since becoming the sole co-owners of the club in May.
Wright, who scored over 50 goals at all levels for Salford last season, is one of the youngest players ever to debut for the League Two side.
He also made his senior debut for the club against Manchester City last January, a match which ended in a 8-0 defeat for Salford City.
Wright only played a few minutes of the Etihad drubbing, but his inclusion underlined the Class of '92 hierarchy's faith in him.

Joao Felix's move to Al-Nassr is official.
The Portuguese star, who cost Atletico Madrid £113m to sign him from Benfica in 2019, has joined the Saudi Pro League side from Chelsea for an estimated £45m.
It means Felix will now count all-time legend Cristiano Ronaldo as a teammate.
Felix, 25, first joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023 and made 16 league appearances.
A season-long loan with Barcelona followed before he returned to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis last summer.
But it has ultimately proved to be a short stay in west London as he now joins the sixth different club in his senior career.

A new domestic TV deal is set to herald the arrival of several new innovations among broadcasters.
Half-time interviews with players and managers as well as in-game interviews with managers or substituted players are all set to be introduced, as is dressing room access.
Broadcasters will have dressing room access either between the end of a club's warm-up and the first bell for kick-off, between the first bell and players leaving the dressing room at half-time or straight after the game once all the players have returned.
As part of the deal, clubs have to allow broadcasters one of these new features at least twice per season.
However, they will be able to get out of the dressing room access should they be losing.
But if clubs refuse dressing room access, it means they must accommodate another one of the broadcaster's request for access later in the season.
If clubs want enhanced access, they must outline their requests 72 hours in advance of kick-off.
Details of the broadcasting changes were laid out in the Premier League's latest handbook.

Although Sheffield Wednesday and Danny Rohl came to a mutual agreement for the German to depart, talkSPORT understands he will NOT receive a pay-off.
News of Rohl departing without some extra coin comes as the Owls remain mired in financial uncertainty.
The club was slapped with a three-window ban from signing new players for a transfer fee for the next three windows on June 18.
It came as the club failed to pay transfer fees and made late payments for players and to the HMRC.
Players who were not paid their wages on time were permitted to hand in a 15-day notice of their contract termination.

Borussia Dortmund are debating whether to make an approach for Jadon Sancho, talkSPORT understands.
Italian giants Juventus also remain in talks with the winger.
Manchester United are prepared to sell Sancho for as little as £17million.
That represents a £56m loss for the Red Devils given they forked out an eye-watering £73m to sign him from Dortmund in 2021.
Sancho spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan with Chelsea, who had a £25m obligation to buy him at the end of the season.
However, the Blues paid a £5m penalty to avoid signing Sancho on a permanent basis.
Sancho finished his time at Stamford Bridge with five goals and ten assists from 41 appearances across all competitions.

Wrexham are not going to leave any stone unturned in their bid to avoid the drop from the Championship.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson confirmed the club's interest in 49-time Wales international Kieffer Moore.

"He's one of a number of players we've looked at over the summer.
"Like I said, the landscape changes in the transfer market very quickly from one week to the next.
"We're looking at lots of options here and abroad."
Moore, a striker, joined the Blades in July 2024 and netted five times from 28 Championship fixtures last term.

Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte insists Ruben Amorim retains the backing of the entire team.
Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag last November, but his tenure has not gone to plan as they lost the Europa League final to Tottenham and finished an embarrassing 15th in the Premier League last term.
The 40-year-old also boasts the lowest win percentage of any Red Devils boss in the Premier League era at 26 per cent, with the next-lowest belonging to Ralf Rangnick at 42 per cent.
However, Ugarte believes Amorim is still the man to turn things around at Old Trafford ahead of his first full campaign.
"We have to improve things," Ugarte said during United's pre-season tour of the United States.
"We have matches to prepare for.
We are all very motivated, because we believe in the coach, we believe in what he wants and that is important."
Amorim's side are involved in this year's Premier League Summer Series alongside Bournemouth, West Ham United and Everton.
The Red Devils are one from one in the tournament, picking up a 2-1 win over the Hammers in their opener.
They face Bournemouth on Thursday at 2:30am BST.

Sky in Germany reporter Kerry Hau snapped Diaz touching down in Munich along with a backpack and suitcase.
Diaz, who was with Liverpool on their pre-season tour in Asia just yesterday, was given permission to make an early exit after the German giants struck a deal with Liverpool.
talkSPORT understands Bayern have agreed a £65.5million fee for Diaz, who has two years left to run on his contract at Anfield.
Bayern will fork out an initial £61.1m, with £4.4m to be paid in add-ons, which are considered easily attainable by Liverpool.
The Reds had been strong in their stance that the Colombian was not for sale, but they have reluctantly caved in with the player keen on a new adventure.
