Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, talkSPORT understands.
The Dutch full-back has agreed a five-year deal with the Reds through to the summer of 2030.
Frimpong is now expected to undergo a medical before finalising his move to Anfield.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have informed Leverkusen of their intentions to trigger the defender’s £29.5million release clause.
Noticeably, Frimpong was an unused substitute under Xabi Alonso for his side's 2-2 draw away at Mainz this afternoon, having featured in all of Leverkusen's 33 Bundesliga matches beforehand.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has shared his surprising plans for life with Federico Chiesa staying at Anfield next season.
The Italy international has been linked with a return to his homeland for months, having failed to find his feet since moving to England.
Since his arrival in August, Chiesa has only played 392 minutes across 13 appearances and completed 90 minutes on just two occasions.
He has featured for eight of the 180 minutes Liverpool have been involved in since wrapping up the Premier League title, and he was left out of the squad entirely for the visit of Arsenal last weekend.
"No, that was lost in translation or I didn't say it in the way I meant it," Slot clarified when asked about his use of the phrase "or another club" while discussing Chiesa's future recently.
It was a very positive thing, and I didn't mean he should go to another club.
"But we are having here three players that are, in my opinion, doing so well this season that there was no reason not to play them.
"And most of the time I had to pick one of them, I couldn't pick Lucho, Cody and Mo together.
Hopefully, if we can keep doing that, it’ll be a good next few years at the club.”

Leeds United are the front-runners to sign Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, talkSPORT understands.
Wilson's contract is due to expire at the end of the season, although Newcastle have the option to trigger a one-year extension.
However, it is understood that the Magpies will allow Wilson to leave for free if he is given the chance to play first-team football elsewhere.
Wilson has featured 20 times for Newcastle in all competitions this term, but has registered just one goal, which came in the FA Cup.
Of those 20 appearances, he has started only twice.
The 33-year-old's season has largely been derailed by back and hamstring injuries.

Martin Keown does not believe victory in the FA Cup final means Manchester City have had a good season.
Crystal Palace will look to deny City a second FA Cup trophy in three years when they contest the final on Saturday at Wembley.
When asked whether winning the FA Cup would constitute a successful campaign for City, Keown told talkSPORT.com: "Not in what they're used to achieving because I think you're judged by your Premier League consistency, and there hasn't been any.
"It's enough to make second or third, but it's not really the levels that Pep wants.
"This guy is a serial winner of trophies, and he demands excellence.
If it isn't a trophy, it will be only the second season he hasn't won one.
"This guy is a serial winner.
But an FA Cup win is a nice thing to have tucked away."

Real Madrid have now followed with their own communicado to announce the arrival of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.
talkSPORT understands Alonso spoke to Huijsen in recent days and drove the club's speedy swoop for the 20-year-old.
Madrid, who have tracked Huijsen since he was 16, have offered him a £7.5m package which could rise to £9.2m.
Sources in Spain claim Premier League clubs offered more money but Huijsen only wanted Madrid.
The Spanish giants will pay Bournemouth in three instalments between now and 2026.

Bournemouth have officially announced that Dean Huijsen will join Real Madrid following the end of the 2024/25 season.
The Spanish side have activated a £50 million release clause in the defender's contract, as talkSPORT revealed earlier this week.
Huijsen had held talks with several Premier League clubs already, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, having impressed in his breakthrough season at the Vitality Stadium.
However, Xabi Alonso, who is expected to take the reins at Real in the summer, identified the Spain international as a top-priority target.
He has now become the first new arrival at the Bernabeu, in time to play at the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15.
A Bournemouth statement read: "The centre-back, who joined the Cherries from Juventus last summer, has been instrumental in the club’s record-breaking campaign, which has seen Andoni Iraola’s side already break their highest points tally in the Premier League.
"Huijsen has made 30 appearances in the top flight this season, scoring goals against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal.
"The 20-year-old also earned his first caps for the Spanish national team in March, following a string of impressive performances for the Cherries.
"Everyone at AFC Bournemouth is looking forward to working with Dean for the remaining two games of the Premier League season, before he embarks on the next step of his career."

Mohamed Salah has cheekily urged his former Chelsea teammate, Kevin De Bruyne, to join Liverpool this summer.
The Belgian talisman is set to quit the Premier League at the end of the season after his current contract at Man City expires.
The 33-year-old, who has scored four goals and registered nine assists against Liverpool, is yet to decide where he will move.
Speaking to Gary Neville on Sky Sports, Salah jokingly had a message for De Bruyne on the possibility of heading to Anfield.
“I want to tell him congratulations for your career,” Salah said.
“He’s done a phenomenal job at City, and he was great for the league.
“I really wish him the best…and we have a space for him!”

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery refused to lift the lid on Emiliano Martinez's future after the goalkeeper's tears last night.
The 32-year-old Argentine looked emotional at full-time after the club's 2-0 win over Tottenham in their last home game of the season.
Asked about Martinez's future, Emery was non-committal, saying: "We will see.
"Of course, it is the last match here [this season], and I don't know.
"We will see about the team, the players, but of course, they are responding on the field."

They must think, it can't go on like this?
This works out as 0.92 points per game, which sounds bad, but it's even worse.
It is actually worse than that because even Paul Jewell at Derby County during the 2007/08 season averaged more at 0.94.

talkSPORT understands that Dean Huijsen has now passed his Real Madrid medical.
The centre-back has agreed terms on a five-year deal, and Los Blancos will pay the £50 million fee in three installments.
The defender will play the final two matches of the season for the Cherries before heading to the Spanish capital.
Huijsen will be part of the team for the Club World Cup this summer, meaning he could make his debut in around a month.

Remember Emre Belozoglu?
The midfielder played for Newcastle United during the noughties while he represented Turkey at international level, and he could be in the Championship very soon.
talkSPORT understands Hull City have put Emre onto their shortlist to replace Ruben Selles.
He is currently Antalyaspor's manager.
They are currently 12th in the Turkish Super League after 12 wins all season, but Emre is in contention for the job.

That might be one of the stupidest things you will see on a football pitch.
Rasmus Hojlund is instructed to take some strapping and an apple watch off his arm, which he does.
The striker then runs back onto the pitch, but he's told to wait, meaning Man United are down to ten men for a drop ball.
But the daftest thing is that Hojlund was wearing the strapping in the first half, so it's only just been spotted.
What followed was a load of faff for no reason.

A return to the Champions League is now just one win away for the Villans.
For Spurs, they have now lost 21 games this season and can equal their worst-ever number of defeats next weekend if they lose.
But they are already guaranteed to get their lowest ever Premier League points total.
