Reports from Germany indicate that Liverpool have seen their second bid for Florian Wirtz rejected.

The Reds submitted an offer worth £109 million for the attacking midfielder, but Bayer Leverkusen are looking for £126m.

However, the deal isn't thought to be in any danger, with the two clubs still working to find an agreement for the German international.

Wirtz has turned down Bayern Munich, while Manchester City quickly withdrew from the race, leaving the Reds as the only team in for him.

If Liverpool were to accept Leverkusen's demands, they would be paying a British transfer record.

With Chelsea set to wrap up Liam Delap in the coming days, the Blues are set to turn their attention to Jamie Gittens.

The Telegraph are reporting that the club have opened talks with Borussia Dortmund and want a deal wrapped up before the Club World Cup.

The west London club had a look at Gittens in January, and he has a release clause in his contract believed to be £50 million.

Jadon Sancho's future is uncertain, with Chelsea not convinced about activating the £25 million obligation to buy.

Gittens has done well in Germany since moving there and is one of several English players who have thrived in the Bundesliga.

talkSPORT understands that Bayer Leverkusen are eyeing a move for Harvey Elliott.

The Reds have submitted an offer to the Bundesliga side for Florian Wirtz, which is worth £109 million.

The bid is under consideration from Erik ten Hag's new side, and Liverpool are willing to sell Elliott.

Jarell Quansah is another player that could head in the opposite direction, with the Reds also happy to let the young defender depart Anfield this summer.

If Wirtz were to join, he would be the second signing from Leverkusen this summer after Jeremie Frimpong.

Saudi chiefs are confident on reaching an agreement with Bruno Fernandes after positive talks with Al Hilal, talkSPORT understands.

The Manchester United skipper is believed to be consulting with his family before making final decision.

The Red Devils are not publicly ruling out selling their talismanic playmaker, but yet to receive an offer.

Fernandes' agent, Miguel Pinho, held talks with Al-Hilal on Thursday and the United captain has been offered a contract worth £65million-a-year.

Discussions, described by Hilal sources as 'productive', took place at the Four Seasons in Riyadh, and talks ran into the evening.

Hilal asked earlier in the week for an answer by Thursday as they look to firm up marquee signings ahead of the Club World Cup.

The Saudi club are still waiting on Fernandes' decision, but are pushing to secure his services in a £100million deal.

Everton would reportedly be interested in signing Matt O'Riley from Brighton this summer.

The midfielder has just finished his debut season with the Seagulls after signing from Celtic last summer for a reported £25million.

However, Sky Sports report that Everton may be keen to bring the Denmark international to Merseyside.

David Moyes' side are said to be set for competition from European sides for the 24-year-old.

Clubs in Serie A have held long-term interest in O'Riley, but Brighton fans insist that they do not want him to leave.

"Not for sale," said one on X, and another added: "Never happening."

A third commented: "Considering he's only been with us for one season, he's not for sale."

It has swirled rumours that he could end up remaining at Leicester despite their relegation to the Championship.

The 21-year-old is sure to be attracting interest from top-tier sides, but could he potentially stay in the East Midlands?

Man United still insist they don't want to lose their captain and are yet to receive any contact or bid from Al Hilal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold may deserve an apology from some Liverpool fans amid fresh details of his move to Real Madrid.

That's the view of talkSPORT's Troy Deeney following the defender's hostile reception from Reds supporters ahead of his departure.

Alexander-Arnold was booed at Anfield after he announced he will leave Liverpool in the summer when his contract expires.

It meant he would join Madrid as a free agent, but talkSPORT have reported that Los Blancos will pay a €10million fee for him.

The deal, which is actually worth around £10m for Liverpool as they don't have to pay his wages, allows him to join for the Club World Cup.

Much of the animosity from Reds fans was centred on the right-back leaving without the club earning some money from his exit.

"A lot of people in the Liverpool fan base were frustrated as they were getting nothing for him.
