We are into the last week of the Premier League season, and talkSPORT is here to keep you up to date with the latest.

Tottenham may be set to finish 17th after this weekend's finale, but they won't care about that anymore.

Ange Postecoglou stuck to his promise and won a trophy in his second year in charge, ending Spurs' drought by beating Manchester United in the Europa League final.

“You are used to the fact that I don't talk about players from other clubs that we haven't signed, so yeah, I understand he is a big admirer of Lucho Diaz because I am as well

“He's a great player, having a great season, so yeah, if he meant it that way, he probably would have added that he's an admirer of Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo as well or or didn't he?”

[Deco mentioned Marcus Rashford] “Oh, Marcus Rashford, see that' what I mean, he admires a few players, which we all do.

“I admire Lamine Yamal and Raphinha as well...”

Ivan Toney is set to be recalled to the England squad for the first time since Euro 2024.

The former Brentford forward has impressed Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel during his first year in the Saudi Pro League.

The 29-year-old was part of the Al Ahli side that won the Asian Champions League earlier this month.

Toney has scored 29 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions in the Middle East since quitting the Bees last summer.

Mohamed Salah admits he had to ask himself if he would be able to hit his best form once again before going on to help fire Liverpool to the Premier League title.

The 32-year-old enjoyed a stand-out campaign for Arne Slot's side, scoring 28 Premier League goals and 18 assists.

Salah - who committed his future to the Anfield club by signing a new two-year deal in April - was voted Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association, and was presented with his award in London on Thursday night, where Arsenal striker Alessia Russo collected the women's trophy.

"Winning the Premier League and to have had that impact in the team, I have never felt that happiness in the club," said Salah, who picked up the FWA accolade for the third time.

"That moment winning the Premier League against Spurs, to have (had) that impact with the number of goals and assists.

"(Also) winning the Premier League after that great players left and a good manager left also, it is so special."

Salah added: "When I came into the season, it was like: 'okay, will I be able to do it again?' I had that conversation with myself.

We started the season well and now we won the Premier League.

"Hopefully we can win the Premier League again and also the Champions League."

England boss Thomas Tuchel is expected to name a strong squad ahead of the forthcoming games against Andorra and Senegal.

Tuchel, preparing for his second camp since starting work as Sir Gareth Southgate's successor in January, will announce his group on Friday for the World Cup qualifier against Andorra on June 7 and the City Ground friendly against the African side three days later.

Despite the exertions of a long season for his stars Tuchel should call most of them up for the two games.

The German could have a decision to make on Jude Bellingham ahead of his participation in the Club World Cup in the USA later in June.

Reports in Spain suggested the 21-year-old will have surgery on a long-standing shoulder problem after the FIFA tournament, which would rule him out of September's international camp.

But the majority of the players who will be involved in the US, such as Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and the Chelsea contingent of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Reece James are expected to be involved.

Tuchel must also decide on Phil Foden after the Manchester City midfielder opened up on his mental health.

Foden has struggled for form this season after an amazing campaign last year and revealed his mental state has suffered.

He vowed to get my head 'mentally right' for next season, so that could well mean he is not involved for England, especially as he has been carrying an ankle issue.

Marcus Rashford will be hoping to get the nod as he is still training with Aston Villa.

The on-loan Manchester United forward, has not played since the end of April because of a hamstring injury.

Away from Premier League - but if this happens then it may not be long until Millwall are in the top flight!

A sensational report has linked Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh with a takeover of the Lions.

Alejandro Garnacho was non-committal over his Manchester United future after expressing annoyance at being named on the bench for the Europa League final loss to Tottenham.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils this season, with Napoli and Chelsea expressing interest in signing the Argentina international during the winter transfer window.

That speculation will only intensity after Garnacho - like his brother Roberto on Instagram - expressed frustration at starting Wednesday's 1-0 final loss to Spurs as a substitute.

The academy graduate had started every knockout match in the run to the final and eventually replaced Mason Mount in the 71st minute at San Mames.

"Obviously it's hard for everyone," Garnacho told reporters.

Former Inter Milan and Newcastle midfielder Emre Belozoglu was also a candidate for the job.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes the club have a big summer ahead of them to ensure they are ready for the renewed challenge which will come from their Premier League rivals.

The Reds' current skipper Virgil van Dijk will lift the championship trophy after Sunday's final match of the season at home to Crystal Palace.

But planning is already underway to bolster Arne Slot's squad, with Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong edging closer to becoming their first signing after his £30million release clause was triggered.

Liverpool also have a serious interest in Frimpong's team-mate Florian Wirtz despite his reported £125m price tag.

"How are they going to make the squad capable of dominating?

I think the way he's played, performed, his availability has been exceptional and he's a really important player for us."

Arteta also spoke about the need to sign a striker during the summer transfer window and further struggles up front.

He said: "Well, what is clear as well with the amount of injuries that we had in the front line, is that we need a goal threat and we need the firepower out there.

"Understanding that the context can change tomorrow, you know, and we cannot rely just on the numbers that we had before.

"And we have to add goal, we have to add creativity, we have to add numbers and that will be in different positions."

Man United will back Ruben Amorim in the summer transfer window despite their Europa League failure, talkSPORT understands.

Amorim retains the confidence of the United hierarchy despite overseeing their worst-ever Premier League season, coupled with Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao.

Minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is overseeing the club’s football operations, also believes the majority of the United fanbase support Amorim.

Defeat in the final means United miss out on a windfall of more than £100m, but there is still money to spend, even though Ratcliffe has claimed they were in danger of going bust.

The Red Devils are already well advanced in their negotiations with Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and are ready to activate his £62.5m release clause.

They have also held face-to-face talks with Ipswich striker Liam Delap and Lyon star Rayan Cherki is another potential recruit.

Captain Bruno Fernandes has hinted he could be sold to raise funds and talkSPORT has been told he and Harry Maguire have become disillusioned with the United top brass.

But the club remain unlikely to cash in on Fernandes, given his importance to the team.
