Nottingham Forest are considering legal action over what they see as an illegal approach from Tottenham for Morgan Gibbs-White, talkSPORT understands.

Sources close to Forest say owner Evangelos Marinakis is 'furious' with how Gibbs-White's potential move to Spurs has come about.

Forest say they never gave Spurs permission to hold talks with Gibbs-White and are suspicious over a breach of confidentiality regarding his £60m release clause.

Insiders at the City Ground regard the deal as being off as it stands.

Liverpool’s friendly against Preston North End will go ahead as planned on terrestrial TV this weekend.

The Premier League champions' first pre-season match this summer had been in doubt following Diogo Jota's tragic death last week.

Jota died in a car accident in Spain, aged 28, last Thursday, in a devastating incident that also killed his brother, Andre Silva.

Following consultation with players and staff, the decision has now been made to fulfil the club's opening friendly against Preston.

James Maddison has jokingly fanned the flames of any lingering tension between Micky van de Ven and new signing Mohammed Kudus.

The pair famously clashed during Tottenham's 4-1 win over West Ham last October.

Kudus, who opened the scoring in the game, was then sent off for lashing out in the face of Van de Ven and Pape Sarr, earning a five-match ban.

Wissa would be interested in reuniting with former Bees boss Thomas Frank.

Brentford value Wissa at around £40million.

However, key to Wissa's future being resolved will be the fate of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo has been the subject of heavy interest from Manchester United, with the Red Devils and Brentford locked in talks over a fee and deal structure for the winger.

The 25-year-old has already agreed terms with United over an eye-watering £250,000-a-week contract and always made it clear Old Trafford is his preferred destination.

The Bees have rejected an offer from Nottingham Forest for Wissa, but talks between the two clubs are ongoing.

“It feels great to be here, I’m very happy and can’t wait to start,” he told the club's website.

It’s a big sign of why I wanted to work under him as well.

“I’m very team-orientated so my personal goals are around helping the team get as many points as we can, to be as high as we can in the Premier League and perform really well and go as far as we can in the Champions League.”

West Ham and Nottingham Forest are among the clubs battling to sign Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, talkSPORT understands.

Forest were hoping to use City's interest in Tottenham-bound Morgan Gibbs-White as a bargaining tool but are now readying a straight cash offer.

West Ham also plan to use some of the money from the sale of Mohammed Kudus to Spurs to fund a move for the England under-21 captain.

McAtee, who also has interest from clubs in Germany, wants to leave City after seeing his game-time limited.

City value the 22-year-old academy product in a similar bracket to Cole Palmer, who they sold to Chelsea for £42.5m.

Jordan Henderson is set to sign for Brentford, talkSPORT understands.

The former Liverpool captain is currently a free agent after Ajax agreed to terminate the midfielder's contract one year early.

The Three Lions international captained the Dutch giants last season and had a contract that was due to run until June 2026.

However, Henderson had been pushing for a return to England, and his Ajax exit was officially confirmed on Thursday.

Sunderland and Nottingham Forest both showed an interest in the 2019 Champions League-winning captain.

However, Henderson has chosen Brentford, where he will work under new head coach Keith Andrews in the forthcoming season.

He will undergo a medical today ahead of reuniting with former Liverpool teammates, Caoimhin Kelleher, Sepp van den Berg, and Fabio Carvalho.

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea, talkSPORT understands.

The Gunners are set to complete a £52million move for the winger, who has agreed personal terms already.

Madueke has spent two-and-a-half seasons at Chelsea, scoring 20 goals and assisting nine others in 92 appearances.

He was part of their UEFA Conference League winning squad and earned his first caps for England during his time in west London.

Madueke is set to be the second Chelsea player to sign for Arsenal this summer after Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is a possibility of Nicolas Jackson leaving Chelsea this summer.

Doubt has been cast over the striker's future at the Blues following the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Jackson has netted 30 goals in 81 appearances for the Blues but not been able to cement himself as a clinical finsher.

As a result, Romano has hinted that a departure is possible.

"Be attentive to Nicolas Jackson's situation at Chelsea," he said on his YouTube channel.

"Because I'm hearing that there is a possibility between Nicolas Jackson and Chelsea to part ways this summer.

"It's getting concrete, it's getting serious.

There's interest from several clubs, I'm hearing in the Premier League, also in Italy.

"AC Milan dream of Nicolas Jackson, at the moment it's very expensive for Italian clubs in general, and also for AC Milan.

"Chelsea have always made an important valuation for Nicolas Jackson."

Tottenham have announced the signing of Mohammed Kudus from London rivals West Ham.

Kudus joins Spurs in a deal worth around £55million, with the fee understood to not include any add-ons.

The Ghanaian international scored 19 goals and assisted 13 others in 80 appearances since joining from Ajax in 2023.

He was also of interest to Chelsea earlier in the window as the Blues made a player-plus-cash offer.

However, West Ham rejected it and instead accepted Spurs' bid.

Mathis Amougou is set to leave Chelsea for sister club Strasbourg.

As reported by The Athletic, the midfielder will join the French side for an undisclosed fee this summer.

Amougou signed for Chelsea in January for around £13million from Saint-Etienne in February.

The 19-year-old has made just two appearances off the bench since but was part of their UEFA Conference League winning squad.

His departure comes amid huge competition for places in midfield with stars such as Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also been involved under Enzo Maresca, with Dario Essugo joining from Sporting Lisbon in June.

Andrey Santos is another midfield option following his successful loan spell with Strasbourg.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to bid for Manchester City youngster James McAtee.

The Telegraph say Forest have contacted City over a deal and an offer is anticipated.

West Ham are also said to be interested in the 22-year-old.

McAtee is an academy graduate of the Premier League giants and made 34 appearances for the senior side, scoring seven goals.

talkSPORT reported interest in the attacking midfielder from Mainz during the January transfer window, with other German sides keen.

Moises Caicedo has been spotted in Chelsea training ahead of the Club World Cup final.

The midfielder suffered an injury late on in their semi-final win over Fluminense by appearing to roll his ankle.

Caicedo hobbled off the pitch before returning to play, but could be in contention to play against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

Chelsea trained at the Sports Illustrated Stadium on Thursday and had their star midfielder involved.

Should he be fit enough to play, Caicedo will offer the Blues a huge boost in their hopes of beating PSG.

Nottingham Forest have reignited their interest in Yoane Wissa, talkSPORT understands.

The forward is valued in excess of £50million and has also been of interest to Tottenham.

Forest have had an initial offer rejected by the west London side but will be boosted by fresh funds.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are set to earn an initial £55million from the sale of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle.

Spurs are also understood to have triggered Morgan Gibbs-White's £60m release clause, taking Forest's pending income to more than £100m.

Sunderland have announced the signing of winger Simon Adingra from Brighton.

The 23-year-old has moved to the Black Cats in a deal worth over £20million and signed a five-year deal.

Adingra said: "It's a pleasure to be here, and I cannot wait to get started.

"It's a big challenge ahead – we'll be facing top players and strong opponents - but I’m ready for it."

Adingra has become Sunderland's sixth signing of the summer since their promotion back to the Premier League.

He follows Habib Diarra, Enzo Le Fee, Chemsdine Talbi, Noah Sadiki and Reinildo Mandava.

Tottenham Hotspur have triggered the £60million release clause for Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, talkSPORT understands. 

Gibbs-White has emerged as the latest target for Spurs, who are ready to get a deal over the line.

The England international is open to the move to north London and has a medical set for Friday.

Gibbs-White's former club Wolves have a ten per cent sell-on clause on any fee over the £25m + £17m add-ons they sold him to Forest for.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking at a move for Morgan Gibbs-White, according to David Ornstein.

The transfer guru reports that Thomas Frank is a long-term admirer of the England international and Spurs will explore a move.

If Nottingham Forest can be persuaded to sell him, Tottenham will look to convince Gibbs-White.

Manchester City explored a move for Gibbs-White earlier in the transfer window only to see Forest slap a £100 million price tag on their star player.

So, if Tottenham were to make a move, they would be looking at one of the biggest deals in Premier League history.

The Gunners have been in talks with the England international's camp over personal terms and talks have been positive.

Eze has a release clause, which is believed to be around £68 million.

The talks for Eze are separate to the discussions over Noni Madueke, with the Gunners looking to sign both.

Bournemouth are getting closer to agreeing a deal with Chelsea for Djordje Petrovic, talkSPORT understands.

Chelsea want £25 million for the 25-year-old and the two clubs are in advanced negotiations.

Petrovic's arrival will pave the way for Bournemouth's Republic of Ireland under-21 international Mark Travers to join Everton as number two to Jordan Pickford.

Sunderland also held talks with Petrovic but were never seen as front runners.

Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale is one alternative options for the Black Cats.

Wolves's Sam Johnstone is highly rated by Sunderland's newly-appointed goalkeeper coach Neil Cutler having worked with him at Molineux.

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford.

The Danish international has penned a two-year deal at the Emirates with the option for an extra season.

Norgaard is an extremely experienced Danish international and is delighted to be joining Mikel Arteta's men.

Speaking to the club's website, he said: “You can get almost emotional because maybe it was a dream that I've given a little bit up on coming towards the later stage in my career.

“I've just turned 31 and had signed a new deal with Brentford.

But, of course, we know many players used this shirt - [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic.

"It's the dream not only to use the shirt, but with all the history they have around the number, it's something beautiful that I have the privilege to do."

Ajax have now announced Jordan Henderson's departure from the club.

In a statement, they revealed that the English international had asked for his contract to be terminated.

They had look to extend it, but Henderson has decided to move on.

There is interest from Premier League clubs, though a return to Sunderland looks unlikely as of now.

Manchester United have announced the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik.

The forward is a current France Under-19 international and scored nine goals in 18 games for Le Harve's youth team.

He is yet to make a first-team appearance in his career and has been immediately loaned out.

Kana-Biyik will spend the upcoming season with Swiss Super League side Lausanne-Sport.
