"He's the best player that has played this sport in its history, but what is surprising is his will to win.
"Today, even in the last minutes, tired, with a knock, he kept helping the team in any way he could, in attack, in defence, to get the result…
"We know having him gives us an advantage, but above all, through his contagious spirit, the winning spirit that he has."

Lionel Messi inspired Inter Miami to a 2-1 comeback victory over Porto at the Club World Cup with a signature stunning free-kick.
The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner scored the winner in the second half as the MLS side picked up their first victory of the tournament.
Javier Mascherano's men, who qualified as hosts by winning last year's MLS Supporters' Shield, were held to a goalless draw by Al Ahly in their opener on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a win for Palmeiras earlier on Thursday left both sides keen for a victory to bolster their qualification hopes.
It was Porto who appeared set to put one foot into the last 16, though, as they took the lead early in the first half.
Samu Omorodion opened the scoring after just eight minutes as he converted a penalty for the Portuguese side.
The two-time European champions remained in front for the remainder of the first half, with Messi and his teammates unable to get any kind of foothold in the game.
However, Mascherano's half time team-talk had the desired effect as his side wasted no time following the restart.
Telasco Segovia levelled just two minutes into the second 45 minutes before Messi unleashed the magic at the Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The 37-year-old produced a trademark effort as he curled a spectacular free-kick past Claudio Ramos in the Porto goal.

He may be 37 years old, but Lionel Messi is inevitable.
It occurred during games against Southampton, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Man United, Aston Villa, West Ham, Ipswich and Newcastle.
The club have now been fined over £1million for their breaches.
The official statement read: "The Premier League and Manchester City FC have entered into a sanction agreement after the club accepted it had breached Premier League Rule L.33 in relation to kick-off and re-start obligations.
"The breaches occurred in nine Premier League matches during the 2024/25 season.
"Rules relating to kick-offs and re-starts help ensure the organisation of the competition is set at the highest possible professional standard and provides certainty to fans and participating clubs.
Sesko looks, to me, the one they really fancy.
"And it smells again the club is looking for a lot of money and I'm sure what comes with that, the player's looking for a lot of money with it.
"Then you've got the thing of, 'Are we going to pull away from that because it's going to get too expensive and go after the other lad, who, we don't want to make him feel he's our second choice?'"

Rodri appears to be preparing well for his full return at Manchester City after his injury last season.
The midfielder suffered ACL damage in their 2-2 home draw against Arsenal and missed most of the campaign as a result.
He returned in May as a substitute against Bournemouth and played further minutes on Wednesday in their 2-0 win over Wydad AC.
Rodri, who won the 2024 Ballon d'Or, was a big absence for City but is now building towards entering the 2025/26 campaign with a bang.
"There was one bit in the second half when there was a bit of a loose ball and he burst onto it," The Athletic's Sam Lee told talkSPORT.
"Made the interception, took one big step forward and played a perfect pass into [Erling] Haaland with a first-time through ball.
Regardless, you're disappointed whenever you lose," he also said.
"So we're going into every game and believing that we can win."

"Manchester United away first game, you know what it's like Al, first game of the season, Manchester United are going to be lively.
