That has opened the door to Premier League rivals Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola also keen on the defender.

City have reportedly made enquiries about the possibility of signing him this window.

"So he's [Cunha] a type of player that you could see Manchester United being interested in, that would suit this system that Ruben Amorim wants to play."
