Liverpool are set for a number of changes this summer, with some long-serving players expected to depart.
Darwin Nunez has been linked with an exit from Liverpool with Diogo Jota also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, with a slew of departures set to be signed off at Anfield during the summer transfer window.
One player who is seemingly guaranteed to leave Merseyside is Nat Phillips, with the 28-year-old defender’s contract expiring this summer after spending the last two seasons out on loan with the likes of Celtic and now Derby County.
And Rams manager John Eustace has now shared his eagerness to sign the Liverpool defender this summer once he departs Anfield.

Speaking to the press after securing Championship safety on the final day of the season, Eustace confirmed that he would want to see Phillips join Derby on a permanent deal in the summer, with the defender expected to be in demand if he becomes a free-agent.
Eustace said when asked if he would explore signing Phillips once the defender had left Liverpool when his contract expires: “Yeah, for sure.
The match-winning header last week was awesome.”
With Phillips last playing for the Reds in the 2022/23 season, the Bolton-born centre-back has earned a place in Liverpool folklore after his role in pushing Jurgen Klopp’s side to UEFA Champions League qualification in 2021.

Indeed, with Liverpool now Premier League champions, a clear break from the Merseyside giants is needed for Phillips, who could view Derby as a good next permanent step in his career having impressed with the Rams this season.
Phillips’ departure will mark the end of an era for some Liverpool fans given his cult icon status, yet the defender will not be the only player who could leave Anfield for nothing in the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid are expected to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold as a free agent with the 26-year-old right-back superstar set to leave his boyhood club for nothing despite being one of the best fullbacks in world football.
With no other first-team players set to leave for free, having just names depart for nothing can be viewed as a good thing for Liverpool, who will be spending bog this summer regardless of who leaves in the coming months.
