With just days remaining before the summer transfer window slams shut on Monday, September 1, Liverpool could yet be involved in more than a few deals.

Uncertainty surrounds Harvey Elliott, whose future hangs in the balance after RB Leipzig agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old midfielder.

However, the German club’s pursuit depends entirely on Chelsea’s delayed move for Xavi Simons, creating a domino effect that could keep Elliott at Anfield.

The England Under-21 star has been valued at £40-50 million by Liverpool, but with Florian Wirtz’s arrival pushing him further down the pecking order, a departure seems plausible.

Kostas Tsimikas appears the most certain departure after Liverpool performed a dramatic u-turn on their transfer stance.

The Greek left-back is now available on a straight loan to AS Roma, having initially been told only permanent offers would be considered.

And ahead of the deadline, another Liverpool transfer has been completed.

Liverpool Academy midfielder James Balagizi has officially completed a season-long loan move to National League leaders Forest Green Rovers, providing the 21-year-old midfielder with another opportunity to gain senior experience away from Anfield.

The move, announced by Forest Green, sees the England youth international join Robbie Savage’s squad as they target promotion back to League Two.

The midfielder, who signed his first professional contract in September 2020, has twice been named on the bench for Liverpool’s senior side and was part of the Under-18s team that reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2021.

He has spent previous loan spells with Crawley Town, Wigan Athletic and Kilmarnock

On his signing, Director of Football at Forest Green Mark Bowen said: “James is a top talent and we’re delighted to be able to attract a player of his ability to the football club in amongst fighting off interest from clubs higher up the pyramid.”

“We’re incredibly thankful to Liverpool for allowing us to aid his development and add more quality to our squad here at FGR.”

“He can play in a number of positions across the midfield and has an excellent passing range to help build from the back?
