Liverpool are currently assessing which striker to make a move for in the transfer market, but they could get away without signing anyone.
The Reds have had a busy summer in terms of incomings but they will eventually turn their attention to outgoings to free up more space for any new arrivals.
A striker is the area that they seem most keen to reinforce, with there being plenty of names linked, including Hugo Ekitike, but nothing has progressed as of yet.
This slight hesitation could perhaps be a sign that they might stick with what they already have, saving them a lot of money in the process.
Arne Slot will use pre-season to experiment with all of his options, and has already done so, with there being one player in particular who could be given a chance to shine, and it isn’t Darwin Nunez.

Nunez looks like he will depart this summer and links to Ekitike have gone very quiet as of late, leaving Liverpool fans a little worried as to who will lead the line next season.
However, Slot may have had a genius idea that, after the first test, appears to have worked, with Federico Chiesa playing as the number nine against Preston.

The Italian enjoyed a solid 45 minutes in the Reds’ first pre-season game and looked sharp despite playing out of position.
He was energetic, skilful and, to be honest, looked like he could do a decent job in this position going forward this season.
The Italian barely kicked a ball last season and will be desperate for this to change if he is to stay at Liverpool over the summer, with Slot’s experimentation an indication that he also wants to give him a chance.
Liverpool fans were impressed with Chiesa’s performance and will hope it is a sign of things to come, especially as his link up play was nothing short of excellent.
Bringing other players into the game is something a centre-forward in Slot’s team needs to be able to do, and Chiesa did this on Sunday to very good effect.
Saying that Liverpool must keep a player who played just 104 minutes in the Premier League last season seems strange, but that is the potential that the winger has.
He is adored already at Anfield and his song can regularly be heard ringing around the ground, and he could have the chance to hear it more often next season.
Not only is he a good option to have off the bench, but his versatility is a huge bonus, especially now that he has proven he can play anywhere along the frontline.
Liverpool will also be expected to go far, if not all the way, in almost every competition, meaning that he should get plenty of chances to show his worth.
When he has played in the past, he has shown glimpses of what he can do and if he can show to his manager during pre-season that he is capable, then he should be given a whole load more chances.
