The Hungarian joined the Anfield outfit for £45million at the start of the summer transfer window, and although he was seen as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League last term, his start to life with Liverpool has been poor.
Jamie Carragher dubbed him “aggressive”, while Slot even hooked him in the 38th minute against Burnley because he couldn’t trust him not to get sent off.

However, the Dutchman chose to start him against Everton and, to the surprise of most fans, Kerkez actually played really well.
Indeed, he was dribbled past once, but he more than made up for that by winning 100 per cent of his aerial duels and maintaining a pass accuracy of 89 per cent throughout the game.

One thing that people have likely forgotten is that Kerkez is still only 21 years old, so there’s still plenty of time for him to develop into an even better player than he already is.
Here’s hoping that his performance against Everton is the start of something big at Liverpool for the youngster.
