Liverpool’s streets have transformed into a sea of red as hundreds of thousands of fans cheer the newly crowned Premier League champions during a historic open-top bus parade.
The celebration, marking the club’s first league title parade with fans since 1990, follows Sunday’s emotional trophy presentation at Anfield after a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.
The 15-kilometer procession began at 2:30 PM BST from Allerton Maze, winding through Queens Drive, Mill Bank, West Derby Road, Islington, Leeds Street, and The Strand before concluding at Blundell Street near the docks.
As of 3:15 PM, the buses have passed the Rocket Flyover, with crowds thickening at West Derby Road.
Authorities estimate the parade will last 3–5 hours, though progress has slowed due to overwhelming turnout.
Merseyside’s transport network is buckling under the strain. James Street, Lime Street Low Level, and Bank Hall stations are closed, while Liverpool Central and Moorfields operate under strict one-in-one-out policies.
National Rail reported “unprecedented demand” on routes from Manchester, London, and Cardiff, with images of overcrowded platforms flooding social media.
Keen eyed fans in the city saw an unexpected face among the jubilant squad: 19-year-old striker Jayden Danns.
The academy graduate, who made just one Premier League appearance for the Reds in 2024-25, was spotted on the open-top bus as hundreds of thousands of fans celebrated the club’s historic triumph.
The striker was also spotted on Curtis Jones’ live Instagram stream of the festivities, and you can see Danns in some grainy screenshot below:
After scoring twice in the FA Cup and making his Champions League debut in January, he signed a new long-term contract and joined Sunderland on loan in February to gain experience.
However, a back injury discovered during his medical sidelined him indefinitely, rendering his move to the Championship club moot.
Despite Sunderland’s promotion push, Danns failed to make a single appearance, spending his loan period rehabilitating on Merseyside.
It would be interesting to see if another loan move could be arranged at the Stadium of Light now that Sunderland are back in the Premier League.
