Liverpool’s academy is known for its conveyor belt of top talent.
The Reds may have asserted their dominance in the transfer market over the summer by spending a record-breaking amount of money, but that does not mean they are not committed to developing their youth.
Throughout their history, a number of quality players have risen up through the ranks, with some going on to be key members of the first-team squad, while others move onto pastures new.
Some are also just forgotten about entirely, which is, unfortunately, the case for most players in academy football.
However, one star has now re-emerged from out of nowhere and announced himself on the biggest of stages after scoring four goals for his country.

The international break can be a rather boring period for many football fans, but sometimes it throws up some games and scorelines worth taking note of.
And, on Tuesday night, this is exactly what happened as Norway thrashed Moldova 11-1 to edge close to qualifying for their first World Cup in 27 years.
The obvious players such as Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard got on the scoresheet, but so too did Rangers midfielder Thelo Aasgaard.

The name may ring a bell to many Wigan Athletic fans rather than Liverpool, but Aasgaard was actually a product of the Reds’ youth set-up growing up.
The 23-year-old played for the academy between 2010 and 2016 before joining the Tics aged 14.
The midfielder spent the majority of his career at Wigan and has played over 140 times for them, before leaving for Luton and now Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
To make things even more impressive, Aasgaard only came on as a second half substitute, yet still found the net four times in just 26 minutes.
Even though Liverpool are now much more of a powerhouse than they were back then, they are still putting a lot of time and resources into their academy.
In fact, it is something they invest heavily into and they have already proposed plans to renovate their training ground at Kirkby for 2028.
As per the Liverpool.com website, the Reds are putting a dome over the building to create an indoor pitch, while also adding a new grass pitch which will enable 500 spectators to watch.
These exciting times for the Reds from the top right down to the very bottom, with this something that should really encourage Liverpool supporters.
