Liverpool have had more turnover in the coaching department this summer after a raft of changes last year.

Reds supporters had become used to seeing a fairly settled team behind Jurgen Klopp before his departure in 2024.

Arne Slot‘s arrival brought a whole new Liverpool coaching team, with the likes of Sipke Hulshoff, John Heitinga and Aaron Briggs arriving.

But despite Slot and his team leading Liverpool to the Premier League title, change has been necessary again this summer.

Heitinga left to be replaced by Giovanni van Bronckhorst as one of the head coach’s assistants.

Elsewhere, there has also been some change in the goalkeeping department.

Fabian Otte was one of those brought in last summer, but Liverpool announced Otte’s exit on Wednesday, along with Claudio Taffarel.

And having spent just one year at Anfield, Otte is surprisingly set to take a job at Tottenham Hotspur.

Otte arrived at Liverpool with a strong reputation in 2024, and he appears to have done a good job with the Reds.

Nevertheless, an exit after just one year always leaves room for speculation, and it remains to be seen exactly why the German has chosen to go.

According to BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel, however, Otte seemingly did have another job already lined up.

“Tottenham are set to appoint former Liverpool goalkeeper coach Fabian Otte onto Thomas Frank’s new-look backroom team,” Mokel reports.

Liverpool have already confirmed the return of former head of goalkeeping Xavi Valero.

This is a surprising turn of events which will leave fans questioning why exactly Otte has decided Tottenham is the right place for him, and not Liverpool.

With Taffarel leaving, it also begs the question of how much change is too much in relation to Liverpool’s goalkeeping department.

Caoimhin Kelleher has gone already, with Giorgi Mamardashvili arriving to replace him, while 2024 saw coaches John Achterberg and Jack Robinson depart following long stints at the club.

In just one year, the whole department has changed completely, and then changed once again.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will bring another coach in to assist Valero, but with everything else going on right now, they should try to minimise any further changes behind the scenes.
