Colombian right-back Anderson Arroyo has officially left Burgos in Spain to join Russian side Rubin Kazan on a deal running until 2029.

His move is already historic.

According to Transfermarkt, the €1 million (£868k) fee is the record sale for a player from Burgos, doubling what the club received for David Goldar in 2024.

Arroyo’s path has been long?

Liverpool signed him from Fortaleza CEIF in January 2018 when he was just 18.

Yet he failed to play a game for Liverpool in any capacity.

He spent six years on the books and went on eight separate loan spells at clubs including Mallorca B, KAA Gent, Mlada Boleslav, Salamanca UDS, Mirandes, Deportivo Leaves, FC Andorra, and Burgos.

In 2024 he finally left Liverpool permanently for Burgos, where he enjoyed a full season in La Liga 2 and featured in the Copa del Rey.

Earlier this week, Rubin Kazan confirmed his arrival, and Arroyo made a 10 minute cameo on debut on Friday evening.

He will wear the number 12 shirt for his new club.
