Former Liverpool favourite Harvey Elliott passes big milestone as old teammates rush to support

Harvey Elliott has taken only two appearances to find the net after leaving Liverpool.

A second outing quickly followed on Tuesday night as Villa faced Brentford in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The former Liverpool starlet made his mark with a well-taken goal on the stroke of half-time.



John McGinn won the ball back from an opposition defender, allowing his new teammate to run onto the loose ball and squeeze a shot below Hakon Rafn Valdimarsson.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, his new team were unable to hold onto their lead and went on to lose the penalty shoot-out at the end of the 90 minutes.

The midfielder, who also left Anfield this summer for Lyon, replied: "What a guy."

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be keeping a close track of the Englishman's progress because they could still stand to benefit in future.

As part of the transfer agreement completed on deadline day, the ECHO reported there to be both a sell-on clause and a buy-back clause.

This means they could stand to make even more money from the player years down the line, provided someone else comes in and buys him, or alternatively were Liverpool to end up seriously impressed by his development they could spark an easy attempt to bring him back to Anfield.
