Former Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has announced his engagement to partner Eimear Murphy on social media.

Kelleher's ten-year spell at Liverpool came to an end earlier this month when the Reds confirmed his move to Premier League side Brentford.

The deal could be worth up to £18million, with Liverpool set to receive an initial £12.5 million plus add-ons.

Taking to his Instagram stories on Saturday, Kelleher shared a picture announcing his engagement, having proposed on a boat during sunset.

The post captures Murphy's reaction to the question with Kelleher simply describing the moment with a love heart emoji.

Kelleher became the second major departure from the Premier League champions this transfer window, following Trent Alexander-Arnold's £10m move to Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper had been widely tipped for a move, with several Premier League clubs evaluating their options between the sticks.

West Ham United and newly promoted Leeds United showed firm interest, while Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Aston Villa were also monitoring the situation.

Kelleher joined Liverpool from Ringmahon Rangers in 2015 and went on to make 67 senior appearances, recording 24 clean sheets.

After rising through the academy ranks, he made his first-team debut in September 2019.

He was the starting goalkeeper in the League Cup final wins over Chelsea in 2022 and 2024, and he also collected winners' medals in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Notably, he holds the club record for the most penalty shoot-out victories by a Liverpool goalkeeper.

This past season, Kelleher featured 20 times for the Reds, including 10 appearances in the Premier League.

His former club, Ringmahon Rangers, are set for a significant financial boost thanks to a 20% sell-on clause, potentially earning a seven-figure windfall from the transfer.
