West Ham United have had a poor start to their Premier League campaign, winning just one of their first four league matches.

Graham Potter is under scrutiny at the London Stadium for early-season results, but pundits like Troy Deeney have blamed West Ham’s backroom staff.

West Ham lost 3-0 to Tottenham last Saturday, leaving Potter’s side third from bottom in the Premier League table.

West Ham have made a sensational bid to bring Slaven Bilic back to the club should they sack Graham Potter in the coming weeks.

That’s according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook who wrote on X, saying: “Slaven Bilic is a contender to make a shock return to West Ham United with Graham Potter under increasing pressure.”

Bilic spent three seasons at West Ham from 2015 to 2017 where they finished seventh in his first season, breaking the club’s points record, goalscoring record, lowest number of losses total, and lowest number of away losses in a season.

The Croatian’s second season at West Ham was their first at the London Stadium, and the club finished 11th before a disappointing start to his third season in charge saw Bilic replaced by David Moyes.

Potter would have hoped for more from West Ham’s opening game of the season away at Sunderland, which they lost 3-0.

However, the ex-Chelsea boss would have understood that home fixtures against Chelsea and Tottenham would have been difficult to win this early in the season.

Unfortunately for Potter, West Ham’s poor form will be carried into a run where the Hammers face Crystal Palace, Everton and Arsenal ahead of October’s international break.

Potter will know another poor run of results could cost him his job, and now it appears Bilic is waiting in the wings should David Sullivan pull the trigger.
