Arsenal are set to be without at least four of their first-team stars when they face Liverpool on Sunday.

After a less-than-disappointing 3-1 loss to Chelsea last weekend, the newly-crowned Premier League champions return to action this Sunday, with a home game against Arsenal.

The Reds beat Arsenal’s fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on this ground to officially secure their 20th league crown and their second in five seasons.

They will now look to secure another morale-boosting win here, against an Arsenal side that were their closest challengers for the most part of the season.

A win in this game would give Arne Slot’s men ten consecutive wins and extend their lead at the top to 18 points.

Securing a win against second-placed Arsenal would be another show of their dominance this season.

However, the Reds are in the midst of a five-game winless streak against the Gunners in the Premier League (D3, L2).

Still, Arsenal are winless at Anfield since 2012 (D4, L7).

The Gunners also come into this tie on the back of three consecutive losses in all competitions, which culminated in their UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of PSG.

A win here could help soften the blow of their disappointing exit and perhaps help them solidify their quest to finish in the Premier League top two for a third season in a row.

Ahead of the trip to Anfield, the Gunners would be without four of their players.

Arteta did not provide any new update on the club’s injured players during his pre-match press conference, meaning that the Gunners have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

The quartet of Kai Harvetz (thigh injury),  Gabriel Jesus (injury), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee injury) and Gabriel Magalhaes (thigh) will all miss the trip to Anfield.

Meanwhile, Arteta has made a decision about his side giving Liverpool the customary guard of honour on Sunday.

Speaking in his pre-Liverpool press conference, Arteta confirmed his side’s intention to give the Reds the customary respect:

“They deserve that.

If somebody’s better, you have to approve and accept and try to reach that level.”

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Martinelli
