Wolves are confident of keeping Jorgen Strand Larsen at Molineux for the foreseeable future despite interest from Newcastle United.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 25-year-old remains a crucial part of Vitor Pereira’s side.
Newcastle are considering a move for Strand Larsen alongside a number of other high-profile targets as they prepare for the potential departure of Alexander Isak.
Football Insider revealed on 28 July that Liverpool are confident of signing Isak as he continues to push for a move away after making clear his desire to leave St James’ Park.
However, Strand Larsen is not believed to be the Magpies top target to replace the Sweden international, while Wolves are prepared to deter any offers that arrive.
Matheus Cunha‘s move to Man United earlier this summer has solidified Wolves’ stance as they do not plan to lose any more key players in this window.

This article contains exclusive comment from Mick Brown, a football transfer expert and former chief scout for Man United and Sunderland among others.
Newcastle have begun stepping up their efforts to replace Isak and have set their sights on Brentford star Yoane Wissa after seeing an initial bid rejected.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted while Strand Larsen is on their list of targets, a move is considered unlikely as things stand.
“Wolves are determined to keep Strand Larsen, from what I’ve been told,” he told Football Insider.
“Newcastle have already missed out on a few players this summer, and I think Wolves are confident they can keep hold of him despite their interest.
“If Isak leaves, there’s not a lot Newcastle can do about it because he’s made it clear he wants to go.
“But they have to make sure they get his replacement right.
“They’re looking at a few targets because they’ll want to assess all of their options in that position.
“Strand Larsen is one of those targets, but to be honest I’d be surprised if he was top of their list.
“I don’t see him as being a replacement for Isak, and I doubt they do either.
“From Wolves point of view, they’ve already lost Cunha after he joined Man United, and they don’t want to weaken their team any more than it has been.
“Strand Larsen is a key player for them, so I think they’ll do whatever they can to keep him.”

Newcastle’s pursuit of a new striker has led to growing interest in Ollie Watkins, with the Aston Villa and England striker subject to plenty of speculation.
Brown told Football Insider on 29 July that Newcastle view Watkins as a key target to replace Isak alongside a number of other options in his position.
The striker is believed to be open to a move away from Villa Park, with the chance to play Champions League football with Newcastle likely to prove tempting.
Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 28 July that Aston Villa are open to offers for Watkins and have been surprised by the lack of interest this summer.
