Several former Liverpool players are facing uncertain futures as the summer approaches, with some already set to move on and others awaiting resolution.
Aston Villa are reportedly in talks to terminate Philippe Coutinho’s contract two years ahead of schedule, despite the Brazilian still being officially tied to the club until 2026.
The 32-year-old, who last played for Villa in August 2023, has spent the last two seasons out on loan with Al-Duhail in Qatar and his boyhood club Vasco da Gama.
Vasco president Pedrinho has openly stated his strong desire to keep Coutinho beyond the end of his current loan on June 30, but financial constraints mean a permanent deal is unlikely unless Villa facilitate his release.
Meanwhile, West Ham United have confirmed that striker Danny Ings will leave the club when his contract expires this summer.
The 32-year-old, who joined from Aston Villa in January 2023, scored five goals in 69 appearances for the Hammers.
But for one former Liverpool academy product in Harry Wilson, the end of the season has brought good news.
Fulham have triggered a one-year contract extension for the Welsh international that keeps him at Craven Cottage until June 206.
Wilson has unfortunately suffered with a foot fracture this season, limiting his impact for Marco Silva’s team.
The 28-year-old had contributed four goals and three assists in 19 league appearances prior to the injury.
Tony Khan, Director of Football Operations for the London side, said:
“I’m excited to announce that we have activated the Club’s option to extend the contracts of Harry Wilson, Adama Traoré and Raúl Jiménez through to the end of next season.”
“Harry has been a huge part of the success we’ve enjoyed under Marco Silva, scoring some vitally important goals, and it’s great to see him back.
“I’m delighted that all three will be at Fulham for 2025/26, as we look to enjoy another successful Premier League campaign.
