Fulham’s Andreas Pereira has issued a rallying cry ahead of his side hosting Liverpool on Sunday.

Liverpool are set to face Fulham in a crucial Premier League clash at Craven Cottage on Sunday, April 21 – with kick-off scheduled for 16:30 BST.

As the season approaches its climax, Liverpool finds itself in a fierce battle for the Premier League title, making every match a must-win scenario.

Fulham, comfortably positioned in mid-table, have less at stake but will relish the role of spoilers in their home ground, known for its tight and intimidating atmosphere.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be keen to capture all three points to maintain pressure on their top-four rivals.

Liverpool’s attack, spearheaded by Mohamed Salah, will need to be at its clinical best to break down a resilient Fulham defense that has shown capability in frustrating bigger teams this season.

In truth, the frontline has been in poor form for the past few weeks, evidenced by the Reds not finding the net from open play in six hours of football.

This Sunday’s match at Craven Cottage will be the fourth meeting between Liverpool and Fulham this season, following their initial Premier League face-off and the two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final.

In a thrilling encounter at Anfield last December, Fulham shocked Liverpool by netting three goals, although a late strike from Trent Alexander-Arnold turned the tables, sealing a dramatic 4-3 victory for the Reds.

The league cup matches also highlighted the competitive nature of this fixture, with Liverpool overcoming an early goal by Willian in the semi-final at the Anfield leg to win 2-1.

What did Andreas Pereira say about Liverpool?

Speaking to fulhamfc.com before hosting Liverpool, the former Manchester United man is bullish about his side’s chances and believes the previous close matches can give Fulham some confidence:

“We’re confident now,” Andreas began.

“We know they’re fighting for the title, so we know they have a little bit of pressure.”

“Apart from us, not many teams scored so many goals against Liverpool this season, so I think we know how to play against them.”

“We have to respect they have a lot of quality, but I think we can get a good result on Sunday.”

Fulham’s victory over West Ham United last week ensured the Cottagers play Premier League football in 2024/25.

Andreas Pereira believes these kinds of results bode well for Fulham against top opposition like Liverpool:

But Andreas believes that victories over teams competing at the top end of the table shows that the Whites are capable of aiming higher next season.

“This [West Ham] win gave us a boost,” he explained.

“We’ve shown that we can beat the big teams and the teams that are fighting for European spots”

“We showed it in the last game – West Ham are playing in the Europa League, so we showed that we can play against these teams, we have the level to compete, so I think we have to aim to get in those European spots.”
