Liverpool have discovered their opponent in the last eight of the Carabao Cup after their fourth-round win over Brighton.
Liverpool booked their place in the quarter-final round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday thanks to a 3-2 win over fellow Premier League side Brighton.
In a highly entertaining game at the Amex Stadium, the Reds secured the win courtesy of second-half goals from Cody Gakpo (two goals) and Luis Diaz.
The win represents Liverpool’s 12th win in just 14 games this season under Slot.
The Dutchman couldn’t have asked for a better start to life at Anfield, with the only blemish to his reign coming in the form of a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest and a credible 2-2 draw with Arsenal last Sunday.
Having beaten West Ham and now Brighton, Slot’s side continues the march towards defending their Carabao Cup crown, which they won in Jurgen Klopp’s final season.
Meanwhile, Slot’s side are joined by Tottenham, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Arsenal, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Brentford in the last eight.
