Liverpool have been sent a double transfer verdict over Harvey Elliott's future amid continued speculation around the playmaker's future.

Elliott has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer with the rumours intensifying since the end of last season.

Reports in The Athletic have claimed that Liverpool are looking for a fee in excess of £50million for Elliott this summer, with RB Leipzig mentioned as a potential destination.

Elliott made just 28 appearances for Liverpool last season, 18 of which came in the Premier League and was handed just six starts by head coach Arne Slot across the campaign.

As a result, speculation has been swirling that Elliott could leave Anfield on a permanent deal this summer.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards and ex-England striker Gary Lineker are in agreement that they believe Liverpool should not sanction an exit for Elliott during the current transfer window.

Richards made comparisons to Elliott's potential exit to Cole Palmer's move to Chelsea in the summer of 2023, where the playmaker left Manchester City in the process.

"If I’m Liverpool, I’m not selling him.

I’m not selling him," said Richards on the latest episode of The Rest is Football podcast.

"It reminds me of the Cole Palmer situation when he was at Manchester City.

Not a chance."

Lineker was in agreement with Richards with his verdict on Elliott's future at Liverpool.

It's that form which has now resulted in frequent rumours that the 22-year-old could leave Liverpool on a permanent deal this summer.
