Gary Neville was left stunned when Mohamed Salah revealed that at the beginning of the season he had rated his prospects of remaining at Liverpool as just '10 per cent'.

He had been continually linked with a move to Saudi Arabia as he fired the Reds to Premier League title glory.

And during an interview with Gary Neville for Sky Sports, Salah said because the club did not usually extend the deals of players over the age of 30 by more than one year, he rated his chances as saying at Liverpool at the beginning of the season as just '10 per cent'.

He said: "Based on club history, 10%.

It's in my head, based on club philosophy, (that) I will not stay.

"I know how the club works, it's not something that is bad, it's just we see how they deal with a situation like this in the past.

So, based on experience, you saw in the past, you just judge a situation."

Responding to Salah’s honest admission, Neville simply said: "Wow!”

Speaking after his contract extension was confirmed last month, Salah said: "Of course I'm very excited - we have a great team now.
