Gary Neville warns Liverpool they could regret one major transfer decision

Liverpool are actively planning to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi on a free transfer in the summer of 2026, after a previous deadline day move was blocked by Palace. Despite reports linking Real Madrid with Guehi, Liverpool sources regard these as mere distractions. In addition to Guehi, Liverpool are also targeting Michael Olise, Guehi's former teammate at Crystal Palace, who now plays for Bayern Munich. The club sees Olise as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah. Although Olise's asking price is estimated around £87 million, there might be a clause or verbal agreement enabling Liverpool to negotiate a lower fee, especially with a Premier League club. Olise, a France international, is believed to be interested in returning to English football.

In the short term, Liverpool will not be submitting a fresh bid for Guehi in the January transfer window, opting instead to wait for the free transfer opportunity next summer.
