Liverpool’s summer spending spree shows no signs of slowing down.
After smashing their transfer record for Florian Wirtz and splashing out on Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Eike, the Reds have turned heads again with a rumoured £120 million-plus approach for Newcastle’s prolific striker, Alexander Isak.
Arne Slot’s revolution at Anfield demands depth, and with Darwin Nunez, Luis Díaz and Harvey Elliott potentially on the move, FSG are ready to reinvest every pound.
Behind the scenes, financial models have reported that Liverpool can comfortably navigate Profit and Sustainability Rules, even with a record-breaking deal for Isak,
With Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly stepping back, Liverpool look poised to extend their headline-grabbing transfers well into August – an audacious statement that the money train isn’t about to derail anytime soon.
But it looks like the latest Liverpool transfer target has now been identified.
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that the Merseyside giants have lodged their interest in wantaway Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The former Aston Villa star was conspicuously absent from Juventus without justification, prompting the Serie A giants to consider disciplinary measures.
The player wants a move away from the Old Lady, and is now adopting a hardline stance to get that transfer.
Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that the Brazilian international could be available for around 40 million euros this summer:
“While waiting to understand what measures Juventus will take against the Brazilian, it now seems clear that his adventure in Turin is destined to end by the end of August,” states the report.
“West Ham, Everton and Liverpool had moved on him in recent weeks, but the Bianconeri, in order not to record capital losses on the balance sheet, would have to sell him for about 40 million.”
Juventus’ holding midfielder featured sparingly in Serie A last term, making 19 league appearances and totalling 516 minutes on the pitch without registering a goal or assist.
Across all competitions, Luiz accumulated 27 outings (877 minutes), including six UEFA Champions League appearances, but remained goalless and without a single assist.
