Florian Wirtz might have scored for Germany against Portugal but he ended up on the losing team after Cristiano Ronaldo and Co.

Portugal now waits to find out who it will face in the final out of France and Spain, with the second semi-final due to take place in Stuttgart on Thursday.

As for Wirtz, his season is over, and he can enjoy a well-deserved summer break as Liverpool and Leverkusen continue to work on an agreement for the player to move to Merseyside.

Wirtz received a 3 in German outlet Bild's player ratings from the game!

It should be noted that player ratings published in Germany tend to span from 1 to 6, with 1 being the best score a player can receive and 6 being the worst score a player can receive.

Only one Germany player received a better score than Wirtz, and that was goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen, who was handed a 2.

The 22-year-old Wirtz was described by the Bild reporter as "barely visible" during the first half, but it was noted that he picked himself up after the break to put Germany into the lead.

Using the same player ratings system as Bild, Sport1 also handed Wirtz a 3, writing: "Shot straight into the arms of Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa shortly before halftime, having had little action beforehand.

As he was walking through the mixed zone at the Allianz Arena, Daily Mail reporter Lewis Steele asked Wirtz: "Are you excited for Liverpool, Florian?" Wirtz then glanced towards Steele and nodded his head.

Liverpool has had two bids rejected for Wirtz but there is confidence that a deal will eventually be completed, with Wirtz on course to become one of the most expensive soccer players of all time.
