Philipp Lahm believes Florian Wirtz would be a perfect fit for Liverpool, praising both the club’s system and the role new manager Arne Slot could offer the young German star.
Philipp Lahm, speaking to The Athletic, broke down exactly why Florian Wirtz would thrive at Liverpool:
“Wirtz has an outstanding first touch and can change speed so easily.
Both want the ball and need space.” Yet he praised their mentality: “What I particularly like is that Wirtz and Musiala are team players.
They run a lot and help in defence.”
Still, Lahm pointed out areas where Wirtz will need to adapt:
“He needs to become more physically durable… He didn’t like man-to-man defence, but being robust is a prerequisite in the Premier League and Champions League.
And the pressure at Liverpool will be far more intense than in Leverkusen.”
