Incoming Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has liked a post on social media reporting on the Reds' interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Arne Slot's side had contacted the Germany international's representatives over a possible summer move.
The ECHO has reported that Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head with European powerhouses Manchester City and Bayern Munich for the 22-year-old.
Wirtz has emerged as a target for the Premier League champions as the Slot looks to implement a squad restructure.
Liverpool have contacted the Bayer Leverkusen talent's representatives and have been informed that their English rivals and the German giants pose as competitors for his signature.

Should Wirtz put pen-to-paper, he will join the Georgian shot-stopper at Anfield, having signed for Liverpool last summer however, his move will not be completed until the forthcoming transfer window.
And he has already shown his true colours with his social media activity as he liked a post from the Instagram account 433 which wrote: "Liverpool have contacted Florian Wirtz’s camp over a potential move to England, per @davidornstein.

"Which club do you want the German to sign for?"
Liverpool have already made known their interest to the 22-year-old and his parents, who look after his interests, ahead of his next major career decision.
It's been claimed representatives from the club met with Wirtz, his mother Karin and father and agent Hans, as they looked to solidify their interest.
But with the threat of Bayern Munich, the expectation is that the playmaker will remain in Germany whether it is a move to Bavaria or remain at Leverkusen.
"The rumours surprised me a bit when I started in the football business seven years ago," Leverkusen managing director Fernando Carro said this week.
"Gradually, I've been there longer, there are always different interested parties, there are different parties, there are different relationships.

"It's actually quite difficult to find out where the rumours come from, but I have to say, there are many that really surprise me."
This summer has been billed as a big one for the Reds as they look to reinforce their options in order to successfully defend their crown at the summit of English football.
Reports in Germany have suggested that Wirtz would cost around £125million, which would smash the previous record of £85m when Darwin Nunez was lured from Benfica.
