Arne Slot will have some players on the sidelines when Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend.

The Reds will travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in their next top-flight fixture.

Liverpool go into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Southampton in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday night.

Alexander Isak bagged his first goal for the Reds in the win, while Hugo Ekitike scored again.

Next up for Liverpool is a clash against Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, where they will be looking to continue their 100 percent start to the season.

The Reds are top of the table with 15 points from five games and already have a five-point lead over Arsenal in second place.

Here, the ECHO takes a look at Liverpool's current injury and suspension list going into their next fixture.

Giovanni Leoni was stretchered off with an injury during Liverpool's win over Southampton in the Carabao Cup.

The defender was making his first appearance for the Reds since his summer move from Parma, but his debut lasted just 81 minutes before he dropped to the turf in agony after falling awkwardly near the touchline.

Slot stated after the game that further tests would be needed to determine the extent of the injury.

"He's down because for him it didn't feel good immediately," Slot told reporters on Tuesday night.

"But this is something now we have to assess and normally these things don't happen in five to 10 minutes, you have to wait until tomorrow to see how he comes in and then maybe do an MRI scan to know more.

"Normally the emotions of a player tell you a lot, I saw a player in the Dutch Eredivisie at the weekend who went out completely in tears and it proved to be that he was right (that he had suffered a bad injury), but lets hope for the best."

Potential return date: Unknown

Ekitike will serve a one-match suspension after being sent off during Liverpool's win over Southampton.

The striker picked up two yellow cards in his cameo performance, with his second coming after taking his shirt off during his goal celebration.

As a result, Ekitike will miss the clash against Palace in the Premier League but will be available for Liverpool's next fixture after that.

Potential return date: Galatasaray (A) - September 30 - Champions League
