Arne Slot recently confirmed the appointment of Andy Robertson as Liverpool’s new vice-captain.

Grace Fisk appointed new permanent Liverpool FC captain

The left-back succeeds Trent Alexander-Arnold, who departed to join Real Madrid at the end of last season.

Robertson, who also captains Scotland at the international level, will serve as deputy to skipper Virgil van Dijk and lead the team whenever the Dutch defender is unavailable.

Liverpool FC Women have also announced a change in leadership.

Defender Grace Fisk has been named the new permanent captain ahead of the 2025–26 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign.

Fisk takes over the armband from Niamh Fahey, who retired at the end of last season, and will lead Gareth Taylor’s side into the new campaign.

Grace Fisk, who has 51 Liverpool appearances and two goals, was named Players’ Player of the Year in her first season and signed a new deal in April.

She will captain the Reds for the first time competitively in Sunday’s WSL opener against Everton at Anfield.

“It is such a huge honour for me to be appointed as club captain here at Liverpool.

It was an amazing feeling when I was asked to take the armband,” Fisk told Liverpoolfc.com?

“Obviously I’ve not known Gaz that long, so for him to select me means a lot

It’s nothing I would ever have expected or was even thinking about.

“I don’t think I could ever fill Niamh Fahey’s shoes, but I will try to lead the team in my own way, be there for everyone and show our supporters how much this means to me.

“We have such a strong and committed group of staff and players, including the senior leadership group, and I’m really looking forward to the journey ahead together.”
