While they’ve had to deal with the departure of Jobe Bellingham—who opted to join Borussia Dortmund rather than stay for Sunderland’s top-flight campaign—the club have made several high-profile additions.

Sunderland officially unveiled Xhaka earlier this week, arriving alongside Simon Adingra and Habib Diarra as part of an ambitious recruitment drive.

The Swiss international has wasted no time getting involved on the pitch, already featuring in pre-season and now reaching out to fans with a positive update as he begins his new chapter in the North East.

His return to the Bundesliga proved a success, helping Xabi Alonso’s side to a historic unbeaten title-winning campaign in 2023/24 and now will hope to help Sunderland in their top-flight return.
