Liverpool players Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai have liked a social media post regarding Jarell Quansah's impending Anfield exit.

The England Under-21 international is on the verge of leaving the Reds after an agreement was reached with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bundesliga club are set to buy Quansah in a deal worth a potential £35million after discussions stepped up earlier this week with advanced talks meaning an agreement was reached.

Leverkusen are said to be on the hunt for defensive reinforcements after former Manchester United head coach, Erik ten Hag, inherited a depleted backline, as a result of Jonathan Tah leaving upon the expiry of his contract to join German rivals Bayern Munich.

Quansah's exit will be worth an initial £30m with a further £5m in add-ons and the Reds have also included a buy-back clause as part of the deal.

The Liverpool youngster is currently with the England U21 squad, who rubber-stamped their place in the European Championship semi-finals on Saturday night with a win over Spain.

Following the completion of the tournament in Slovakia, his move to Germany will be official.

In a post to Instagram, Fabrizio Romano posted: "HERE WE GO!

The post had received over 798,000 likes, at the time of writing, with Elliott and Szoboszlai among the current Liverpool players to offer their support by liking Romano's upload.

Quansah will become the latest high-profile departure at Anfield this summer after Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher ended their association with the club.

Liverpool geared up for a busy summer after winning the Premier League title - and have already signed Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz with the Reds closing in on a deal to sign Milos Kerkez.

Arne Slot faces a number of key decisions in the market before their top-flight defence gets underway in August.

Elliott is one of them who could also leave the club following reports regarding a possible exit.

"It's just a situation that me, and the team on my behalf, have to have a conversation about," he told reporters at the start of the Under-21 Euros.

"I'm going to be 23 next season and I don't really want to be wasting years of my career, as it's a short career.

"I just want to improve and be the best player I can be.

"If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision I'm going to have to make.

"Nothing makes me want to leave.
