Harvey Elliott has commented on his future amid a busy summer for Liverpool.

The Reds have brought in seven new players this summer as they attempt to retain the Premier League title.

Florian Wirtz, who cost Liverpool over £100 million, will provide even more competition for Elliott, who saw his game time reduce last season.

The England Under-21 international joined the Reds from Fulham a few years ago, arriving with a reputation as one of the best young players in the country.

However, aside from a few moments, it hasn’t quite clicked for Elliott at Liverpool, and he doesn’t look to be guaranteed a regular place in Arne Slot’s starting lineup.

Several clubs, including West Ham, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Newcastle , have shown an interest in signing him this summer.

However, nothing has happened yet, and Harvey Elliott has joined up with the Liverpool squad in Hong Kong for the club’s pre-season tour to Asia.

With the Liverpool squad gathered in Asia and the latest signing, Hugo Ekitike, already joining up with them, Elliott has now dropped a major hint that he might need to be “selfish” and think about leaving for more playing time.

Speaking to The Anfield Wrap, the 22-year-old said:

“If I had it my way, I would be here for the rest of my career.

I love everything about the club.

“But at the same time, I need to be selfish and see what’s best for me.

I want to go to the World Cup and keep being successful.

“It’s still something I need to review?

We’ve had many new players come in, whether it blocks the path for me, I don’t know.” “But my main focus is here unless anything changes.”
