Liverpool take on Brighton & Hove Albion this evening in their final away game of the Premier League season.

The Reds received their third guard of honour after wrapping up the title last month, with Liverpool putting on a fine performance in the first half as Harvey Elliott gave the visitors the lead after a fine move orchestrated by Conor Bradley, before Brighton managed an equaliser just past the 30-minute mark.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench having travelled with Liverpool, Arne Slot made a slew of changes as Federico Chiesa started in the attack, with the aforementioned Elliott also coming in for Curtis Jones in the midfield.

And Elliott’s goal for Liverpool ensured that the Anfield side achieved something that the Merseyside giants have never done before in the league.

Elliott’s well-worked goal meant that Liverpool have scored in every league away game for the first time in their history, with the Reds becoming the first Premier League side to achieve such a feat since Manchester United in 2000/01.

With Liverpool failing to set a Premier League record against Arsenal last week, Elliott and Slot will be proud that they have managed to make history this evening on the English south coast, regardless of tonight’s result.

Indeed, Mohamed Salah could set another record in the second half for Liverpool should the Egyptian international find the back of the net, with the winger just one goal contribution off from matching the goal involvement record in the Premier League.

And with one historic feat already in the bag, the Reds will be motivated to go for broke after the restart to ensure that Liverpool’s away goal record isn’t the only achievement set by the Merseyside giants tonight against Brighton.

Liverpool were in cruise control of the match until Elliott’s opener, with the England youth international’s goal waking Brighton up and inspiring the Seagulls to draw the score level after some sloppy defending from Slot’s side.

And going into the final 45 minutes, Liverpool will want to give the vocal travelling supporters a final away performance to savour, even with numerous players looking tired at the Amex Stadium after such a long season.

Salah’s drive to make more history could be used as fuel to inspire Liverpool to a result, and getting all three points is what the away end will want to see more than anything having been crowned Premier League champions already.
