Harvey Elliott arrived in London on Tuesday to undergo surgery on his ankle injury, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Reds boss is awaiting an update on the young midfielder’s condition after suffering a dislocated ankle against Leeds on Sunday, while Elliott has insisted Pascal Struijk was not to blame for the horror injury.

“Harvey Elliott, my thoughts are with you.

“Who comes in on next bed to him… Harvey Elliott and his family.

Elliott’s ankle got trapped after a challenge from Struijk and he suffered a dislocation, with Mohammed Salah frantically waving for play to be stopped so he could receive medical attention.

The youngster was taken to hospital, before returning home later the same day, with Liverpool confirmed he would require surgery on the injury.

The 18-year-old was carried off on a stretcher during the 3-0 win at Elland Road.
