Harvey Elliott could find himself at a new club before the end of the summer transfer window, with several teams interested in signing the Liverpool midfielder.
The 22-year-old boosted his profile earlier this summer with a standout performance at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
He helped England win the trophy and earned Player of the Tournament honours.
After being given limited first-team opportunities during Arne Slot’s maiden, title-winning campaign at Liverpool, clubs have been alerted to his potential availability.
Elliott has been open about his situation at Anfield, telling The Anfield Wrap during the club’s pre-season tour of Asia:”If I had it my way I would be here for the rest of my career, it’s as simple as that.
“I love everything about the club, but at the same time I kind of need to be selfish and see what’s best for me.
“I have big ambitions.
It’s something I still need to review.”
RB Leipzig have been strongly linked with Harvey Elliott, reportedly viewing the Liverpool star as a potential replacement for Xavi Simons, who is close to completing a move to Chelsea.
Aston Villa were initially considered favourites to sign Elliott, with Newcastle United and Brighton also showing strong interest.
However, Leipzig have now emerged as the frontrunners.
According to Sky Germany’s Philipp Hinze, Elliott has given positive indications towards a potential switch to the Bundesliga club.
Hinze posted on X: “Positive signals from Harvey Elliott towards RB Leipzig.
“The 22-year-old is not opposed to a move to the Bundesliga.
“However, Elliott also has other options?
No breakthrough yet, no decision yet.
“Talks remain open-ended.”
